Red Hat's Fedora Core 6 Linux distribution has reached another big milestone, racking up two million installed users barely two months after tallying 1 million installed users.

"That's really ultimately the point that we're trying to do with our metrics with Fedora," Spevack said. "We want convincing numbers for people that want to talk about the size of the Linux world."

The current rawhide kernel has John Linville’s wireless-dev tree. That means that the d80211 stack, and a quite a few new drivers for wireless cards are in there. Work is also underway by Jeremy and Bill to get some of the redistributable firmware included in the repositories. Overall, this should mean a big boost in wireless functionality for Fedora.

Last Weekend, We (JoergSimon, JensKühnel and I) were at Chemnitz Linuxtag. Chemnitz LinuxTag is the best organized linux event, I've ever seen. Booth Personals were well taken care of during the whole event by the organizers.

Fedora 7 Test 2 looked nice with its theme and desktop wallpaper. Most of the included applications did work fine, but Abiword didn’t. Considering this is a pre-release version of the OS the applications that didn’t work will no doubt be fixed before the final release.
