Installing SIM - Simple Instant Messenger

SIM (Simple Instant Messenger is a neat instant messaging utility with lots of features including KDE and GNOME 2 docking. It can be used to connect to ICQ, AIM, Jabber and MSN networks. This is a short HOWTO on the installation of SIM. The installation is very straightforward. Download Sablot library and SIM binary for Fedora from here. Download and save the files in /tmp directory.
$ cd /tmp
$ sudo rpm -ivh sablotron-1.0.1-1.fdr10.i386.rpm
Password:
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
   1:sablotron              ########################################### [100%]
$ sudo rpm -ivh sim-0.9.2-1.fdr10.i386.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
   1:sim                    ########################################### [100%]
To start Simple Instant Messenger,
$sim
Now the messenger will start with this screen for you to login.

You can select either AIM or ICQ or MSN or Jabber from the drop down menu
and configure your login information.

You can also add this to your KDE or GNOME Menu. The path to SIM is
/usr/bin/sim.
