Alexandre de Abreu's Column

Alex has been using Linux since 1997 with Slackware and Red Hat. He has also worked with other distros like Conectiva, a popular Linux distribution at Brazil. With more than five years of professional experience with Linux, he became familiar with many open source tools and languages like Perl, PHP, Shell scripting (Bash, Awk and Sed) and security related solutions which helped him to earn some IT certifications (GCUX, RHCE, LPIC-2 and CCNA).

Now he's working at an Information Security company where he's responsible for security maintenance of Linux environment among clients, sending alerts, applying patches, developing tools and implementing Linux security solutions. He's also developing an useful config tool with Python for Fedora Project.
